Weddings.

Set the perfect mood for your special day with some elegant string music.

Talk with us about what type of music (e.g. classical, pop, soundtracks, hymns), and what kind of mood you’re looking for (e.g. serious, upbeat, light, emotional). Choose your favourite songs to accentuate the emotions of various points of your ceremony, or you can let us decide - we’ll work with you to curate your perfect setlist, and you can be as involved or hands off as you like. We’ve played at hundreds of weddings, so you can relax knowing you’re in experienced hands. Our wedding music booklet has some ideas which we know suit the different stages of the ceremony.

When we’re playing, we choose the songs based on the feel of the event, the mood and emotions of the room at the time, and whether we’re hyping up towards a main event, maintaining a certain mood, or winding down the mood.

During the ceremony we typically play while the guests are sitting down, the processional, the signing of the register, the recessional, and a little bit into the photo taking. We can also play during readings, as well as unity ceremonies (unity candle, ring warming, sand pouring).

Pre-receptions

Let us carry the light cheerful mood from your ceremony through to cocktail hour with some upbeat tunes from our classical and contemporary collection! We can entertain your guests as they mingle over canapes while you take your beautiful sunset photos.

Receptions

Our library contains hours of songs across all different genres - classical, jazz, rock, pop, soundtracks, musicals, and more. We can keep it light the whole way through our set, mix it up, or transition the mood to something funkier midway to start moving your dinner to party mode. We can also be the light background music before the DJ or the band comes and amps things up. Have a chat with us and we can plan and create the perfect tone for your reception.

FAQs

How long should I book for?

For wedding ceremonies, we recommend booking an hour - this allows us to settle the guests in with some music, and cover the entire ceremony. It also gives a bit of wiggle room in case the ceremony starts a little late. For nuptial masses, it is safest to book 1.5 hours.

Do you do music requests?

Yes, we do! If your song isn’t in our library, we’ll source or arrange it for you at no additional cost, up to two songs.

Can I have a different processional song for each group in my wedding party?

One song is ideal, unless you have a large party or a long walk. If that’s the case, we recommend a maximum of two songs during the processional - one for the wedding party and one for when you’re walking down the aisle. With two songs, it sounds more cohesive, and the song change is an emotional marker for when you arrive and the guests stand up for your entrance.

Do you need to attend the wedding rehearsal?

We don’t need to attend the wedding rehearsal. We have played at hundreds of weddings, so we know intimately what the various structures of weddings are and when we should play. So after you discuss what music you would like with us, we can just talk to the celebrant/priest/venue staff on the day to coordinate the cues and schedule. You can also email us the celebrant/priest’s contact details and a runsheet of your ceremony.

If necessary, we can attend the wedding rehearsal, though a rehearsal fee will apply at our usual rates.

Can you dress in my wedding palette?

We definitely can. (Note that an extra fee may apply for sourcing formal wear.)

What happens if my ceremony runs overtime?

All available musicians will play until the recessional ends. After a 10 minute grace period past our booking time, a fee at 15 minute increments applies at our usual rates.

What if we want you to keep playing past the booking time on the day?

This is subject to the musicians’ availability. Let us know as early as possible, and we’ll see what we can do.
